Andy & The Odd Socks Review

We’ve just got home from our first event at Avon Valley & oh my goodness what an event it was! It was chilled, fun & stress free, which for a busy event and big family is pretty hard to do.

The guys at the gates were lovely and we were quickly allowed through. We found a spot close to the stage and set up for the evening. Between coming in and the event starting there was around hour / hour an half wait, which in my head freaked me out a little (how do you keep four kids from not going crazy for that long?) BUT my fears were quickly put at ease when we were all told the Fungineers, Felix the park mascot & a variety of animals were out for greetings (phew!).

The Fungineers as always were happy to play games with the kids, I think Harley got into a game of football. There was a range of animals to meet and get up close with; two shire horses, an owl & a snake. Felix the park mascot was also wandering around greeting the children.

When the show started the kids went crazy. Andy and the Odd Socks were just amazing! All the kids were stood at the front and had the best time singing and dancing whilst all the grown ups sat back (hooray for being able to see your kids whilst sat on the floor without people stood in your way). There was a good variety of songs and interaction with the audience.. lucky hubby was chosen to go on the stage and join in with one of the songs, seeing him in a big curly big & wearing a pink tutu whilst doing ninja moves was just the best thing ever! There was also lots of silliness on stage as well as a t-rex and massive footballs thrown into the audience.

There was a variety of food on offer, bbq, sweets and ice-cream stand. The food is probably the only thing that I wasn’t 100% impressed with as I thought it was a little on the pricey side. No more than the average event catering prices but when you have a large family that can soon add up to a small fortune, but you were welcome to bring your own picnic which is what we did.

The show itself lasted around a hour, which was a perfect length to keep the kids happy. The show closed with streamer cannons being let off into the crowd which the kids loved and all decided to gather up as much as they possibly could and all had a ball decorating themselves in it.

Meet and greet with the band came after the show. The queue was pretty long but seemed to move quite quickly ( we were in no rush so sat and chilled out whilst waiting for the queue to quiet down) we were last to be seen but all the staff and the band still welcomed up as if we were the first guests which was lovely and there was a lot of interaction with the kids and the band were very happy for photos and autographs. Sienna chose to have hers on her arm and is keeping it there forever apparently?

Overall we had a absolutely amazing evening full of fun, laughter and memories to last a lifetime. Thank you Avon Valley for putting on such a great show! We cant wait for next year.
