Halloween and Half Term Round Up.

Wow!  What a brilliant half term we had here are Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park.  The weather was bright, dry and perfect for a family day out in the Bath and Bristol area.  Our visitor numbers were up by 7% on last year and we have had loads of great feedback about our events.

Witch and Wizard School

This was the first year we ran it on such a large scale and it was a huge success with kids and parents.  Broomhilda welcomed everyone into the assembly hall to assign the children into school houses. The little witches and wizards were then taken to magic spells, potions and broomstick skills classes.  At the end of school they were assessed on their flying skills out in the Autumnal sun.  If they had collected all the class stickers on their report card they then attended the graduation ceremony in the school hall under a starlit sky.  We’ve had so many lovely messages about how much the 2 hour event was enjoyed. It has been wonderful for the staff to hear how passionate and enthusiastic you felt they were.

Lauren from the family travel blog You Need To Visit came with her family and wrote a brilliant blog piece as well as a YouTube VLog .  Both of which are really well produced.  Follow Lauren’s blog for some fab reviews on family days out.

Bristol Arts Monster visited Witch & Wizard school and wrote a brilliant review on their Facebook page.  If you live in or around Bristol, give Bristol Arts Monster a follow. They are a one stop shop of what is fun to do with the kids in the area.

Spooky Fun

The Halloween theme around the park was really well received with free pumpkin carving on offer.  Our visitors loved the pumpkin patch! With 4000 pumpkins to start, the kids could use little wheelbarrows to chose their own pumpkin to carve.  We had a specially prepared undercover area so you could enjoy all the carving fun and we tidied up all the mess!  The pigs certainly enjoyed all the pumpkin inners for their dinners.

FEAR at Avon Valley

Fear was a spectacular success with over 14,000 people visiting over the 10 nights.  The new maze the ‘Fourth’ was really popular as were the fire and light shows and 3 returning mazes. We had the Bristol City Team attend one night with 4 of the players dressing up and getting involved in the mazes.  They were great sports and you can read about their visit and see a fantastic video here.

The Bristol Post visited and dubbed FEAR as Bristols scariest attraction!  You can read about their visit here.

Our focus is now turned towards Christmas!  The Christmas event area preparation is well under way and the plans look AMAZING!  Our Facebook Events page is now live and you can also see our special Christmas website for more details.
